Conservation
Stained Glass Conservation & Restoration
Our studio specialises in the conservation and restoration of stained glass and leaded glazing, from Medieval church windows to contemporary architectural glass. Every project is carried out in-house by our experienced conservators - from detailed condition reports and recording, through careful removal, studio conservation, repair and reinstatement.
All work is fully documented to create a permanent conservation record.
Heritage & Ecclesiastical Clients
We have undertaken stained glass conservation projects for a wide range of heritage clients, including the National Trust, English Heritage, The Crown Estate, The Churches Conservation Trust, The Church Buildings Council, the Church of England, Roman Catholic dioceses, Historic Royal Palaces, National Museums and private collections.
Our conservation ethos is rooted in minimal intervention, preserving original glass, lead and associated ironwork using reversible, conservation-led techniques. Where required, significant historic glass is protected in situ with our specialist isothermal glazing systems, safeguarding windows from environmental damage and ensuring their preservation for future generations.
All projects undertaken at our studio are executed to the highest standards as set out by the international Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (CVMA) and the Church Buildings Council.
We believe every historic window deserves an approach that respects its significance, preserves as much original material as possible, and ensures its continued life for generations to come.
